Peak Freakquency: Now Broadcasting

Peak Freakquency Is Live

Some summers arrive quietly. Others come in loud, sun-baked, and already running late to the beach. Summer '26 is the latter. Welcome to Peak Freakquency, our Summer '26 collection and a full-on creative moment built around the energy, the aesthetic, and the attitude that made surf culture what it is today.

Where It Came From

Our design team has been in the water a long time. The same hands and minds behind some of the most iconic boardshorts of the '90s and early 2000s are still here, still shaping, still paying attention. And what we noticed was simple. That era never really left. It just went quiet for a while.

Peak Freakquency is the result of us digging deep into one of the most exciting decades in surf history and pulling out what still hits. The 21" boardshort. Oversized graphics. Relaxed fits that don't ask anything of you except to show up. It's not a tribute and it's not a costume. It's our team doing what we've always done, building gear that feels right for the moment we're living in.

The Shoot

To bring Peak Freakquency to life, we gathered a crew that understood the assignment before it was even explained. Yago Dora, Liam O'Brien, Matty McGillivray, Andrew Jacobson, Derrick Disney, Ryan Huckabee, and Finn McCarty. A wide range of talent, personalities, and approaches to the ocean, all in one place for a summer that felt like it was running at full frequency. Get to know the full Vissla team and the creators behind the brand.

The energy on set wasn't manufactured. Beach lots, board racks, swapped stories, and the kind of easy camaraderie that only exists when everyone in the frame actually surfs. When the tide was right, we chased empty waves under the midday sun at a few spots that don't need naming. When it wasn't, the hangs were just as good.

Raw, youthful, unhurried. That's Peak Freakquency in a frame.

Built to Last, Built to Move

The throwback aesthetic is one thing. The construction behind it is another. Peak Freakquency isn't nostalgia for nostalgia's sake. Every piece in this collection carries our commitment to eco-conscious materials and surf-ready performance.

Our upcycled boardshorts are built from recycled materials without sacrificing the stretch, the drape, or the durability that a real session demands. The organic tees and woven shirts are cut with the same relaxed silhouette that defines the collection's visual identity, but made from materials that sit a little lighter on the planet. Looking good and doing less damage. That's always been our way. Learn more about our ongoing commitment to the ocean at our sustainability page.

Who It's For

Here's the thing about youthful surf energy. It doesn't belong to any one age. Ask any surfer what happens the moment they paddle out and they'll tell you the same thing. Everything else disappears. The years drop off. The lineup feels like it always has.

We built Peak Freakquency around that feeling. For the younger generation discovering what surf culture actually means, this collection is an entry point into something real. For everyone else, it's a reminder that the frequency never went anywhere. You just have to tune back in. Find out more about who we are and what drives us.

The Collection

The 21" boardshort anchors everything and sets the tone. Extra length, throwback graphics, and the kind of presence that doesn't need to explain itself. Behind it sits a full range of oversized graphic tees, baggy shorts, and relaxed pants that carry the same Y2K surf DNA across every category.

Rounding out the season, our hybrid shorts, elastic waist boardshorts, short sleeve wovens, and hats are there for those who want the Peak Freakquency vibe without going all the way to the deep end of the aesthetic.

One collection. One frequency. Tune in.
